Jippe Zhanfan & NAUTICA
NAUTICA, born in 1983, is a casual wear brand founded by Chinese-American designer Zhu Qinqi in the United States. Its name is derived from the Latin word "Nauticus", meaning boat, and the logo of the spinnaker is a symbol of adventure, vitality and classic. The brand's clothing philosophy is to honor the life of the sea, aiming to incorporate the inspiration from the sea into people's daily dressing style.
In recent years, more and more brands are keen to complete brand upgrading and iteration by building flagship stores, and NAUTICA is no exception. The first upgraded flagship store is located in Shanghai Grand Gateway 66 Plaza. Based on the brand's traditional nautical gene, Jippe Zhanfan customized the theme of "CITYSCAPE3.0" for NAUTICA Shanghai Grand Gateway 66 Plaza store. For the flagship store project in Beijing China World Trade Center, Jippe Zhanfan customized the new "CITYSCAPE3.1" store image based on the theme of "CITYSCAPE3.0".

Starting from NAUTICA's nautical genes, Zhi Pei Zhan Sail takes water and the city as the core elements, and centers around the sailboat as the theme concept, innovatively combining NAUTICA's marine & sailing DNA with the modern city, to create a modern shopping space with oceanic characteristics. The space uses white and low saturation gray as the main colors, interspersed with black and blue as accents, and the ceiling is not overly processed, creating a modern and maritime environment.
At the entrance of the store, there is a three-dimensional map prop that occupies a whole wall. Zhi Pei Zhanfan takes New York, the headquarters of NAUTICA, as a model, and creates a 3D city model based on real geographic information, with the azure ocean surrounding the white map, and the heights are staggered, which reveals the shrunken sense of reality.
In the design of Shanghai Grand Gateway 66 Plaza, Jippe Zhanfan created a keel structure that imitates a ship, dividing the display area and visually enhancing the sense of hierarchy in the interior space. For the flagship store at China World Trade Center in Beijing, Jippe Zhanfan used the keel structure again, trying to make it the signature design of NAUTICA's brand-new store image, and to create unique spatial memories for consumers.
In the display area of NAUTICA Black Sail series, Zhi Pei Zhanfan specially designed a modeling stand in the shape of a dark blue bow based on the origin of the Black Sail series. The avant-garde shape matches the technological fashion of the Black Sail series products and highlights the characteristics of the brand. The projection wall behind the waves creates an immersive experience of being in the ocean. The wall adopts a unique porthole video wall with unique modeling, and the ghostly blue gradient screen simulates the feeling of floating waves, with a full sense of atmosphere.
In order to create a display space with more nautical characteristics, Zhi Pei Zhanfan has made an original idea of moving the marine scene into the interior through ingenious design. Oars, cables, gravel ...... These marine elements appear in NAUTICA stores and do not appear to be out of the ordinary, but rather strengthen the design sense of the space, echoing the brand DNA of NAUTICA.
Space interprets the brand, design expresses personality. By grasping the personality of the NAUTICA brand, Jippe Zhanfan integrates urban style with the brand's nautical gene, constructing a marine space located in the city.
